Garrett’s commitment to unifying the entire community and his focus on addressing the specific needs of each area show his dedication to fostering inclusivity, ensuring that all residents have a voice in the decisions that impact their lives.
Serving as the Vice Chair of Mt. Pleasant’s Planning Commission, Garrett has gained invaluable firsthand experience in future planning, zoning, and development. This role has equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding the town’s growth. As Mt. Pleasant continues to experience rapid expansion, Garrett will ensure that future redevelopment is approached with thoughtful consideration and careful planning. With the community bursting at the seams, he is prepared to advocate for responsible development that balances growth with preserving the town’s character and quality of life.

As the owner of a small business dedicated to the conservation, promotion, and protection of natural resources, Garrett is more invested in their preservation than most. His expertise is further highlighted by his past recommendation by the Governor of South Carolina to serve on the South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council. An active member of numerous conservation organizations, Garrett is deeply committed to the protection of green space, tree preservation, and the overall stewardship of natural resources. Having personally witnessed the rapid growth of Mt. Pleasant, Garrett is committed to addressing both existing and emerging traffic concerns. He understands the impact congestion and infrastructure challenges have on residents’ daily lives. Garrett is focused on collaborating not only with town staff and council, but also with neighboring municipalities and state agencies to find the most effective, long-term solutions that benefit all residents. His goal is to ensure that Mt. Pleasant’s growth is matched by a transportation system that is safe, efficient, and sustainable for everyone.
